Lilly Monroe was smart about horses, despite suffering several set-backs from the age of 12, mainly from her younger sister knocking her down the stairs, she knew a lot about horses... although people still frightened her.
She saddled up and placed a foot on the stirrup, boucning tiwce before getting up, her hands light on the reins as she rode out to the beach, easily kicking into a canter, her blue eyes sparkling as she smiled, her blonde hair blowing back with her Palomino's tail and mane doing the same.

Mel saw the pair from a few hundred metres away, the Palomino and the blonde, cantering along the shore. Mel barely had to touch Gideon before he was off at a gallop, large Andalusian hooves crushing the sand beneath them. They soon came level with the two, and Mel slowed to a canter, adjusting Gideon's stride to match that of the Palomino. "Hey," Mel breathed, her voice matching the rhythm of Gideon's canter.

"Hey." Lilly murmured shyly, looking away over the horizon as she settled into the pace a little more, steadying the horse gently. "Steady Stella-Luna." She murmured softly. Not daring to look at the girl beside her for a while, finally risking it, fear revealled in her nervous tone and slight flinches.

Mel smiled. "You don't have to be nervous, I'm not gonna eat you." Mel teased gently.

"You have no idea how many people say that..." Lilly murmured sadly, spurring Stella-Luna onward, upping the pace to a near gallop.

Mel reined Gideon back, leaving him dacing on the spot. It seemed that this woman did not want company, but Mel was intriged and wanted to know more.
She gathered her reins shorter, almost at the bit, and sat forward. It didn't take much, only a click of her tongue, and they were off at break-neck speed.

Lilly had raced off needing time to think, now she pulled back a little, settling back to a canter. She took a deep, choking breath and swallowed tightly. "Get it together Lil..." She murmured to herself. "She's not going to hit you..."

Gideon let out a deep whinny as they came closer to the Palli and his rider. With a little fancy foot work, Mel had the huge black gelding cut off the Palli, sliding to a halt in from of them. It was dangerous, but worth the risk.

Lilly pulled the horse up short, stopping inches from Melissa's horse. "Do you ever just let people leave?" She asked hoarsely, half-glaring at Melissa but amused by how easily the woman had stopped her.

"Not when they have me chasing after them they way you've got me." Mel replied. "What's up? Whay are you running?"

"You really don't want to know." Lilly answered forcefully, seeming ready to walk away.

But Mel wasn't going to let her. "Oh, I think I do." She replied just as strong, holding the blonde's eyes. Mel wasn't as soft as she looked, when she wanted to be.

Lilly sighed. "You really, really don't..." She replied angrily, looking away. "You don't need to know what an idiot I am."

Mel raised an eyebrow, urging Gideon to take a step forward, moving closer to the Palli. "I don't believe that." Replied Mel, not a hint of joke in her voice.

"You should." Lilly sighed. She looked over her shoulder, backing Stella up a little. "I'm not the brightest person... thanks to my sister."
