"Why didn't your horse take care of you?" Asked Caitlin, though she hadn't moved from the saddle.

"She got spooked by some idiots with guns." Ria replied easily, stroking the horse's neck as it tensed up, soothing it.

"Oh. Where were you where their were guns?" Caitlin asked, softening slightly, but trying not to show it.

"Just out on the plains." Ria shrugged. "We always practice in the open." She fell silent, nuzzling the horses neck, clearly fighting off the memory. "She got spooked and well, I got caught in a bush... the rest is clear." She indicated her fake leg and sighed.

"Tough." Said Caitlin, slightly sympathectic. "But you got back on. Why? After what happened."

"I knew she didn't mean to hurt me... besides, these things happen." Ria explained with a shrug. "I figured I can still be useful around here, and my father needed me up and about, so I just got on... never really stopped to think it through."

Caitlin let a small smile grace her lips. "Your..." She paused, cutting herself off, shaking her head. "We've been in here for ages. I want to go for a gallop out there." She nodded towards the desert like plains outside of the paddocks. "You coming?"

Ria smiled and kicked her horse into a canter and shoved the gate open. "C'mon then." She agreed, smiling warmly. The girl was pretty fiesty... not to mention kinda beautiful, in her own way.

Caitlin grinned, urging the dusty gold mustang after Ria. Her head hair was whipped from her face as she grinned, leaning forward and feeling Bandit's body ripling under her.
She came level with the other girl, giving her a cheeky smile before kicking Bandit faster. "That all you got?!" She called over her shoulder.

Ria snorted. "Ain't even started." She kicked her horse into gear again, nudging her into a gallop and easily racing forward. She kicked again softly and grinned as the horse took off over a log in the way. "Bring it on."

Caitlin beamed, losening her reins, giving Bandit his head. He tossed it, black mane flying as he surged after the other horse.
Caitlin whooped as she directed Bandit towards a line of bushes, her body moving with his as he swerved in between them, showing his skill at bending, giving a small back of joy as they finished, continuing after Ria.

Ria smirked and ducked a high branch, giggling as the tree snapped back into the other horses face, she kicked harder and watched the horse fly.

"Oh, I'm gonna get you for that!" Caitlin promised, as Bandit reared up slightly from shock.
She didn't give him a moment to recover, knowing he didn't need it, and pushed him after her once again. Caitlin shoved herself deep in the saddle, one hand on her leg, the other holding the reins far out in front, giving Bandit as much length as he needed.
They gained on the others quickly, and Caitlin pressed her leg against Bandit, pushing sidewards so that he was almost touching the other horse.

Ria snorted and kicked her horse faster, kicking backwards in the stirrups, easily standing to get a better steam-line going, noting the end gate and speeding up again, kicking to jump it smoothly.

Speeding along, Caitlin decided to try something she had seen once. She didn't care that it was kinda dangerous, she was gonna try and nothing was goning to stop her.
She made sure there was a long, relatively smooth patch of ground in from of them, and evened out Bandit's pace. She took hold of the saddle horn, slipping her feet from the stirrups as he galloped. She went to dismount while still moving, her feet hitting the ground and he pushed up, swinging back into the saddle. She slipped back into her stirrups in just enought time to jump the gate, pulling up on the other side.
"That was wicked." She grinned, still feeling the ground hitting her feet.
