Cam happily obliged, grabbing the lead and walking them to the edge of the arena. "How is it up there?" she asked, craning her neck to look up at Tamara.

Tamara was gripping the reins like they were the only things keeping her alive, and her legs where tight around Cal's belly. She was slightly pale, and her face was a twisted expression between fright, and concentration.
"I'm okay." She managed, nodding slightly.

Camara wasn't so sure, but she didn't say anything. If she was anything like her, she'd get over it and start to enjoy herself.
"Well I'll let you get on with your lesson," she said to Tamara and Sophie, moving to the side. She decided se wanted to stay and see how Tamara went. She made herself comfortable and looked over to Tamara and Cal, looking as though she was watching the best movie ever.

Sophia moved so she was next to Tamara, placing a hand on Cal's neck. "I want to see how you do at a trot, okay? It's a little bit faster than a walk, and you have to do a little bit more work. But it's just as safe. You have to kick Cal a little bit harder when you get into a walk, and when he starts trotting, you have to rise up and down in the saddle. It will take a moment to get used to it, but I'm sure you'll get it."
Sophia took a step back, giving the pair room. "Give him a kick." She instructed.

Tamara nodded, taking a breath, and making Cal walk, pausing for a second before giving him a gentle tap with her heels. That was all the experienced horse needed, and he extended him stride, picking up the pace.
Tamara squeeled at the change, grabbing onto the saddle for dear life.
"You're doing fine. Just relax." Came Sophia's voice, and Tamara listened to her, rising up and down as Cal circled the arena. She managed to let go of the saddle, letting a small smile creep onto her lips.
She pulled back on the reins, and Cal slowed, gently coming back to a walk. "Wow." Tamara commented when he stopped. "That was amazing."

"That was exelant." Sophia replied. "You're a natural rider." She glanced over her shoulder at Cam. "Looks like you might have a new riding buddy in no time." She grinned, giving Cam a wink. "What do you think?"

Cam clapped and whistled as she watched Tamara trot around the arena, like Sophia, she could see that she was a natural rider and deserved a bit of an applause.
"I can hardly wait!" she said with real enthusiasim. She had thought Tamara to be very shy and anti-social when she first came here, but if she loved horses as much as she did, it wouldn't matter.

"Do you think she's good enough to try some ground poles?" Sophia suggested to Cam, giving a sly grin. Ground poles were the basis for pre-jumping, and eventually jumping. They were jumping poles laid out on the ground in stride, and the horse could easily trot over them, if they gave it a try.
Sophia coud tell that Cal had the form of a great jumping horse, though she figured Tamara was more of a dressage rider, if the way she rode was anything to go by. But both horse and rider could be re-trained, and thy would make quite a formidable pair; if they were willing to put in the hours.

Cam was surprised, Tamara was good, but she didn't do ground poles until her 5th lesson. Pushing her somewhat jealous thoughts aside she nodded. "Yeah, give it ago." Cam could see that Cal could easily do it, but was unsure if Tamara would be willing to try.

Sophia took a moment to arrange the poles in the right spaces for Cal and stepped back. "Now, Tamara, ground poles are easy. You just trot over them like you were trotting before. When Cal goes over them, he will naturally be on the rise stride. Which means you will up out of the saddle." She nodded, giving an ecouraging smile.

Tamara was nervous, but not nearly as when she had started, barely half and hour ago. She directed Cal towards the poles, and Cal went over them like they weren't even there. She had been out of the saddle like Sophia had prodicted, and though she could not see any way this was connected to the jumping she had seen on the tv, she had enjoyed it.

Sophia held up her hand, stepping towards the pair. "Woah," She said soothingly to the horse, taking hold of the grey's bridle. She turned to Cam. "Cam, I want to ask you to do something for me. I would like you to take Cal here over a few of the jumps in the outdoor arena." She looked up at Tamara. "If that is okay with you?" With a nod for a response, Sophia turned to the student. "You up for it?"
