((your signature is irritating)) Sam stiffened slightly at the mention of horses, she loved animals, but mainly the quiet and calm ones like cats and guineas pigs. Horses on the other hand were so strong and unpredictable that they intimidated her. She had only ever been close to a horse once and the whole time she was terrified of it bucking or stamping on her. "Err not really, I prefer small animals" she said quietly "I have a beautiful persian cat named MinMin and thats enough for me, but I don't mind going with you" Sam always found it hard to talk with people and usually just answered any questions shot at her with as little words as possible, but she was slowly feeling less weird around Avril and she was still curious as to why she had taken interest in her so she decided to engage a little more. "Do you agh......own a horse?" she asked.

Avril smiled. "Yes, but no. I have at least 25 horses." She hid a smirk at Sam's shocked look. "I exercise race horses." She explained. "So have my pick of a few every afternoon."

((*cough cough* I believe that is godmoding!!))
"Wow" she murmured "do you actually own them or are you just allowed to ride them?" she blurted out, then instantly blushed "oh I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude."

"No, it's fine!" Avril shook her head. "I don't own any of them. They are some of the more expensive horses on the track. I just make sure that they are properly worked during their races. It pays pretty well, for a job where I get to do what I love."
"They are pretty laid back there too. I can take the horses on the ocasional trail ride. But most of the time I just get them up to their top speeds on the race track."

An image of riding at top speeds around a track flitted through Sam's mind, the thought turned ugly as Sam fell out of the saddle. She shook her head as if to clear the thought, "sounds great, we are nearly there" she pointed to the looming shopping center.

((brilliant post =D ))
"Do you know that shop Smiggle? I need some stationary so we can go there" her voice was still quiet, but a little stronger. A couple walked through the sliding doors and Sam slipped in before they closed again, turning slightly to see if her unexpected compainon was following her.

Avril was behind Sam, eyebrow raised, loking around the shop she had never even noticed before. But it wasn't really her kind of shop, so she wasn't suprised. "Um, nice." She nodded, at a loss of what to say.

(( we only just entered the shopping center, not smiggle, but I can work with it))
Sam quickly found what she was looking for as she often came to Smiggle. She didn't much like creative writing, but she did enjoy writing, in whatever form it took. She even enjoyed taking notes in class, so she liked to have nice stationary. She had filled her science and history books so she picked up two spiral books, one white one with blue spots of varying size and shade and the other with pink and orange stripes, exactly the same as her old ones.
She then moved to get some scented erasers and some blue pens. The whole process took less than a minute even though the store was quiet large and cluttered. "All done," she said cheerfully, "I'll just pay" she told Avril.
Luckily the last person in line had just finished up, so Sam didn't have to wait at all, but rather than getting out her wallet and paying, she dropped her stuff on the counter and leaned over it, giving the check out chick a hug, "Lol I missed you so much, when did you get back?" she cried excitedly, making a few heads turn. Instantly conscious of the attention she blushed before continuing in a lower voice, "and since when have you worked here?"
"I missed you too" the girl said, returning the hug. Sam was so overjoyed at seeing the familiar short, brown, curly haired girl, with soft brown eyes and rosy cheeks she almost forgot where she was. "I got back about a week ago, I'm so sorry I haven't caught up, it's been so hectic. I got this job like a day after coming home," at the mention of her job the girl picked up the striped book and swiped it before continuing, "I've been wanting to get a job for ages. My Aunt Charlotte knew a chick who used to work here and suggested I apply for her position, it was too good a chance to miss. So how have you been?" she asked.
Sam had been listening eagerly and had completely forgotten Avril, "Oh sorry, Lollie, this is Avril, she wanted to come along with me, Avril this is my best friend Lollie, she just got back from a trip to Perth to visit some family."
((thats what I'm takin' about!!))

"Hey," Greeted Avril, offering the good lookin' girl her hand, smiling. "Nice to meet you. You guys seem like awesome friends." Sometimes Avril envied that. That other people had such close bonds, that she could only dream of.
Sure she had girls dropping for her left, right and centre, and her friends that she hung out with. Though, none of them knew her very well.
But Sam and Lollie looked as if they could repeate each other's life story, no problem.
Avril wished she could have that. Well, she did in once sence. She smiled inwardly. She had that relationship with the horses she rode at the racing stable.

"We are" they said almost in unison, causing them both to laugh. "We've been friends since fourth grade" Lollie chipped in. "Third" Sam corrected. "Forth" persisted Lollie. The woman behind Avril coughed loudly and Lollie blushed as she finished scanning the items, "this could go on for a while so we can finish it later, my house tomorrow?" she said in a challenging voice as Sam handed her the money. "Can't wait" Sam replied, the woman glared at her and she quickly walked out the stationary store, bag in hand.

"What are you doing after?"

Sam smiled and nodded, some of her shyness returning. "I was maybe going to get something to eat, I don't have a lot of homework," she paused before adding, "and you? What are you doing?"She wasn't entirely sure why she asked, just a little while ago she wanted her to go away.
